COVID-19

Thank you to everyone for your continuing support throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Everyone has been exceptional at complying with our procedures that we have put in place.

We have decided that we will carry on with the current procedures until further notice, to reduce local risks of flare ups and isolation restrictions. This includes:

  • Clients not entering the practice, Owners will not be allowed in the practice whilst their pet is being examined by the vet. We ask that you fetch your pet to the front door where we can transfer them onto our own lead to avoid contamination. Then, the vet can examine your Furry Friend in the consult room with assistance from the Nursing and Support Staff members.
  • We would like clients to ring and order medications over the phone before coming to the practice. Then we can put the medications with your details on, on a table outside for you to collect. This is to avoid congestion at the front door of the practice.
  • With regards to payment, we would prefer clients to use either BACS (Internet banking) or pay by card over the phone. We can send you away with an invoice if you would like. BACS details can be found at the bottom of our invoices. We are NOT accepting cash for the time being.

Staff Update

As the COVID-19 restrictions are easing, we are beginning to welcome back furloughed members of staff. Kim Hoggarth returned to us at the start of August. She is excited to get back to the “New normal”. Also, Lorna Pymm returned to work in mid-August. She is also glad to get back to working life. We take our hats off to the both of them for having to home school their children over this uncertain period! We are glad to welcome the pair back to work and we’re sure all of our clients are too!

New Vet

Sebastian Kneitz BVM&S MRCVS BSC(hons), or as we call him “Seb” started working for us at the start of August. He has recently graduated from Edinburgh where Martin Squires and David Milton both graduated from many moons ago! We are delighted to welcome him to the team and its safe to say he is settling in well!

Sarah Ruddick is due to return from Maternity leave at the Start of October. We are extremely excited to welcome her back. We are sure a lot of the Farm clients have missed her top-notch advice on worming protocols and general on-farm advice.

We welcome Nicola Little to the team as our new Dog Groomer. She has worked at The Groom Room at Pets at Home, Penrith for Six years. She is settling in well and is very keen to meet your pets for a Pamper! She loves all animals and has portrayed an interest in a lot of the Large Animal bits going on at the surgery.

Large Animal

Tupping time is on the horizon! Please ring and order any Toxovax or Enzovax. Remember you need to vaccinate at least FOUR WEEKS before the Tup goes in with the ewes. For advice please ring the surgery. If you want your Tup’s fertility testing please contact the surgery.

Small Animal

Dog Grooming- The Grooming gets booked up for Christmas fast. If you would like to get your Pooch in for a Pamper over Christmas, we recommend that you get booked in sooner rather than later.

Thank you once again to everyone. Stay safe.
