Due to a recent change in its licence, the Veterinary Medicines Regulator (VMD) and Norbrook (the manufacturer) have announced a change in the meat withdrawal time for Closamectin Pour-On in cattle. It has increased from 28 days to 58 days. Cattle being sold into the food chain should have this new meat withdrawal period applied straight away. We were advised of this change today, 21 March. This is a result of an increase in the sensitivity of tests applied to food products, including meat, and serves to further increase the safety of the food we eat, meaning we can continue to have great confidence in the quality of the food our farmers produce for us to eat.
